How to develop your intuition?

Perceived as the sixth sense of every human being, intuition is a means of receiving information instantly. It is a receptor that is not associated with the five senses of man.

For it does not have a dedicated organ like the nose to sense it. If this sense could be associated with an organ, one might allude to the heart rather than the head. A strange phenomenon that manifests in the brain, it helps us make choices without any particular reason.

We gravitate towards one solution rather than another. Everyone, without exception, possesses this intuition. However, many people do not make use of it. Using your intuition means being able to listen to it. How does intuition work? And how can we develop it?

How does intuition work?

The rational mind constructs a demonstration based on past information that it has collected through the five or six senses it uses. That is to say, touch, taste, hearing, sight, smell, and intuition.

When our rational mind makes a decision, it is based on the past; however, it does not take into account the invisible changes that have occurred in the meantime.

We possess a rational mind that has a limited calculation capacity, and it is impossible for each of us to control the choices of others. We must know that intuition is a sense that connects to the present and receives information without the need to calculate.

This is why these various pieces of information are sometimes surprising. They are therefore information that surprises us due to their content as well as their truthfulness. Like all other senses, it is possible to improve your intuition, to work on it to make it better.

Why listen to and follow your intuition or instinct?

Being attentive to your intuition means being able to value something that we do not see and for which we have no tangible proof to justify. Having intuition means “listening within” in order to act.

It is undeniable that intuition leads us to trust what we feel, even though we do not have the possibility to connect this knowledge to rational intelligence.

One could then indicate that it is necessary to have faith in oneself to be intuitive. The intuition within us acts like a personal detector that often enlightens us in our choices or actions while remaining in alignment with our true identity. It must be acknowledged that, without truly knowing why, our inner voice is often an excellent guide that has served us well over the years.

How to recognize your intuition?

Inherent in every human being, our intuition can manifest at any moment. However, we do not always pay attention to it. It is entirely possible to recognize your intuition. To feel and hear it, you need to be clear with yourself.

For if your mind is constantly disturbed by thoughts and doubts, your body filled with anxieties, you will have difficulty perceiving your intuition. However, it is not impossible even if this is your case.

Sometimes, during moments of relaxation, intuition will appear clearly. Yet, one must know how to recognize it! To recognize your intuition, you need to be attentive to your feelings.

Because, while it is impossible for a person not to know what they feel, it may be complicated for them to recognize their intuition. Nevertheless, if you are capable of recognizing a feeling of well-being, that is already an advantage.

In general, in every situation, we have a feeling, and often without having called for it or sought it, it appears. Of course, this feeling is much more complex and subtle than a simple positive or negative feeling because intuition overwhelms us and alerts us.

An intuition can be a certainty, a conviction, a sensation of heartbeats or lightness. It can manifest in several moments:

  • When we need to solve a problem or make a difficult decision.
  • For trivial things like choosing a restaurant.
  • For a real estate or important purchase.
  • For an appropriate or inappropriate medical treatment and in many other situations.
  • When we are introduced to a person.
  • When we are offered a job.
  • When we need to travel or go somewhere.
  • Etc.

It should also be known that intuition can manifest in you in several ways:

  • An intense physical sensation.
  • An external sign, like a slogan that resonates strongly within us.
  • An image that forms clearly within us.
  • An inner certainty.
  • An injunction.
  • A very strong feeling like a knot in the stomach or conversely a very joyful feeling.
  • An inner voice, an injunction.
  • A fleeting thought that passes and tells us what will happen.

Quickly develop your sixth sense and instinct

Increasing your intuition starts first with self-confidence. Our intuition is a faculty that is deeply rooted in us. You just need to believe enough in yourself to grasp it. Therefore, it is necessary to inhale, exhale, and listen to what your conscience tells you. Working on your intuition to improve it is possible.

Here are some important actions to develop your intuition:

  • Be empathetic: It is up to you to value and give real importance to your own emotions and those of others around you.
  • Listen to your physiological signals: every day, take time to note how you feel in your body. And be aware of the physical reactions you feel when you need to make a decision: your breathing, the beats of your body, the sensation of choking, fullness, etc.
  • Cultivate calm: to better improve your intuition, you need to be able to be calm. Because the calmer you are, the more opportunities you create to be one-on-one with yourself. And it is in these moments that one manages to listen to their intuition.
  • Keep a personal journal: writing down your dreams, actions, journey, and what you feel is an exercise that allows you to reread yourself and make interesting connections while gaining more confidence in yourself and your instinct.
