Why and how to reprogram your brain and subconscious?
Do you have any idea about the term “subconscious”? Does it still hold a part of mystery for you? Many people are not fully aware of the existence of the subconscious or have a very vague idea of it.
However, unbeknownst to them, their subconscious records, works, and stores all the good or bad experiences they go through in their lives. Given the great capabilities of the subconscious and the major role it plays in our lives, it would be interesting for us to take a close interest in this unknown part of ourselves. Is it possible to reprogram your subconscious?
What is the subconscious?
It is a part of our brain that processes data not directly handled by consciousness. It is compared to a hard drive, storing our emotions, our stimuli, our thoughts, and our relationships related to what we experience as well as to our environment.
The subconscious is built through thoughts, education, and experience. It is from this vast base of information that our conscious memory guides certain reactions.
How to access the subconscious?
We have a body that constantly transmits information about our emotions and also subconscious thoughts through our reactions. Our reactions are therefore, in a way, a form of communication emanating from our unconscious mind.
It is therefore possible to condition other reactions in the body to create a communication channel with our unconscious, which is capable of providing us with important information about our emotions, subconscious thoughts, unconscious habits, or our reactions.
By creating this defined communication pathway referred to as “signaling,” you are able to query your unconscious thoughts, but also to reprogram your mind, that is to say, your thoughts or reactions.
To achieve this, you simply need to address your unconscious mind as if it were a separate person. While practicing hypnosis exercises, this could help you modify your unconscious or consciousness.
These exercises help you to have the necessary body signals to create this dialogue with your subconscious. You can then get in touch with your subconscious, ask it questions, ask it to help you reprogram your subconscious or to transform a negative emotion that you wish to free yourself from.
You can do this out loud, as if it were a “good genie” or an “inner sage” who holds all the information and organizes all the processes contained in your subconscious.
Is it possible to reprogram the unconscious?
Our consciousness is the place of our identity. And the unconscious represents 95% of cognitive activity, thus of programs downloaded into the mind. So, there is no point in demonizing our unconscious.
It is a set of programs that are replayed eternally if we do not modify them! Throughout our childhood, we learn a great number of things and our unconscious downloads numerous programs from events, remarks from parents, teachers, etc.
Therefore, we have the possibility to take stock of our unconscious to see what is not going well. There are tools available to reprogram your unconscious. Their use is done according to well-defined contexts.
For example, listening to music, synchronized breathing, mindfulness meditation, etc. The change of internal state can happen in just a few minutes and these therapies modify and establish well-being in a sustainable way.
Why is it necessary to reprogram the subconscious?
We must understand that reprogramming the brain is sometimes useful for various reasons. Because, if we have set up a system of negative values, our consciousness will also act negatively, and we will not always feel happy.
So, for our happiness and well-being, it is necessary to make a positive reprogramming of the subconscious and even our brain that dictates our emotions and choices. Our subconscious has real power and is capable of modifying our beliefs.
Because, every time we think negatively, the reprogramming of the unconscious will address us. Here are some reasons that should lead us to reprogram your subconscious:
- Your subconscious is more powerful than your mind
Each of us operates 99% with a deep mind and our subconscious is programmed in automatic mode. Therefore, you are not largely automatic. And it is to this part of you, which manages these automatisms, that you must address to move towards success.
- Your subconscious does not think logically
It is impossible for your subconscious to differentiate between a real experience you are currently living and a symbolic experience you are reliving in your imagination.
- Your brain does not grasp the difference between the real situation and the one you make it relive
Let us know that the unconscious works somewhat like a computer. In our principle of sustainable development, it will therefore be a matter of shedding light on these automatisms in order to modify the different reactions of the unconscious that do not help us to achieve our goals.
We must therefore choose the program that we think is useful for us and then learn to deeply embed it in our subconscious.
How to reprogram your brain and subconscious?
Effective work on self-knowledge is first important for reprogramming the brain. We must be able to discover our different weaknesses.
And this process of change can only happen by moving from a conscious approach to the reprogramming of the subconscious. Reprogramming your brain positively is a process that takes place in several stages, which is why we must have a spirit of patience.
These different exercises should be done daily, because changes do not happen overnight. In general, there are different techniques for reprogramming the subconscious. Here are some that are relatively simple to implement:
- Creative visualization
Every evening before you go to bed, take just 5 minutes of your time to visualize your ambitions and goals. Imagine yourself having achieved them. Feel deep within you, the emotions you will experience at that precise moment.
It is a simple but effective exercise to chase away the negative emotions that prevent you from achieving your goals. This precise time, which precedes sleep, is ideal because it is the moment when the mind is most receptive.
- Subliminal programming
Every day, upon waking, dedicate 10 to 20 minutes of your time to watch videos or listen to subliminal audio recordings. Take the time to choose good materials, as it is about reprogramming your subconscious. These audio messages can positively transform your life if you listen to them regularly.
- Creating a positive environment
Choose a place that feels familiar to you (your office, your bedroom, etc.). Decorate it with motivating and positive posters. The more you observe them, the more your subconscious will integrate these positive thoughts.
Your subconscious will then be able to recover the displayed positive thoughts. Engage in these different practices very often, and you will reap their benefits.
- Positive affirmations
Every morning upon waking, repeat these positive affirmations. For example, “I am positive / I succeed / I am an extraordinary being, etc.” During these moments, especially engage your imagination, and you can find the positive affirmations that suit your personal situation. Do it with strength and conviction; it is in this way that your brain can record the information and that your subconscious will be reprogrammed.
- Do one thing at a time
Avoid multitasking. Because stress increases when you try to do a thousand things at once. This, in fact, is an enemy of your subconscious. Always concentrate your energy by learning to let go, even in the most difficult moments. It is in this way that you can shape your subconscious correctly.
- Live “here and now”
Avoid focusing on your past or your future. Your subconscious is capable of reminding you of things that are not always good to hear. Instead, connect to what is happening right now. Because it is only here and now that possibilities open up.
Is it possible to reprogram your brain in 21 days?
Common thought asserts that 21 days are enough to anchor a habit formed daily. However, the actual average duration would be 66 days! This approach is the result of a health psychology researcher at University College London named “Philippa Lally,” published in the European Journal of Social Psychology.
We also have Steve Abd-Al-Karim who states in a video that 12 days might be enough to reprogram your emotional brain. You can give yourself a certain number of days to positively reprogram your brain.
But, to achieve your goals, you will need to practice daily, intensely, and for a certain duration, a number of exercises. Regular training with these different tips can help you with brain reprogramming:
- Focus your gaze on the positive.
- Positively reprogram the negativity received from the environment.
- Anchor a positive ritual every day.
